Welcome to Rousemiller Secret Santa (“the app”). It is a private, non-commercial app run by Connor Rousemiller for a family gift exchange. By logging in you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app (and tell the admin so you can be taken out of the game).
Who may use it
Only people the admin has added may log in. Don’t share your login PIN or let anyone else use your account. If you think someone else has accessed it, tell the admin.
The game
- Assignments are generated randomly by the app according to rules the admin sets. They are final unless the admin resets the game.
- Keep your assignment secret. That is, after all, the point.
- Messages to your Secret Santa or recipient are anonymous within the app, but the admin can see them. Be kind.
- Budgets, dates, and other rules shown in the app are set by the admin and may change.
Your content
You are responsible for what you post in wishlists and messages. Don’t post anything unlawful, hateful, or that you wouldn’t want the admin to read. You keep ownership of what you post; you allow the app to store and display it to the people the game needs to show it to. The admin may remove content or accounts at any time.
Third-party links
Wishlist links go to outside retailers we don’t control. Prices and images shown in the app are fetched automatically and may be outdated or wrong. Check the retailer’s site before buying.
SMS messaging program
- Program name: Rousemiller Secret Santa.
- What you’ll receive: one-time login PINs when you request them, and, if you agreed to Secret Santa texts, a notice when assignments are ready, gift-buying reminders before the exchange, and alerts when you receive an anonymous message in the app.
- How you opt in: the organizer asks each family member verbally whether they want Secret Santa texts before adding their number. Saying no is fine and does not stop you from playing. Your first text confirms your opt-in.
- Message frequency varies (typically a few messages per month from October through December).
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Opt out: reply STOP to any text. You’ll get one confirmation and no further texts. Reply START to opt back in.
- Help: reply HELP, or contact https://secretsanta.rousemiller.com.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No warranty
The app is provided “as is” as a free family project, with no guarantees that it will be available, error-free, or that the elves will behave. It may be changed or shut down at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the people who run the app are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of it, including a disappointing gift.

How your information is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top reflects the latest version.
